Growth is good and necessary, but we’ll never “out-grow” the forces that fate exercises on our lives, which is why I also see politics as a place to practice equanimity around the good luck some people face and compassion around the bad luck others face. Being in presence teaches us to find a productive and human balance between the compassionate approach to politics (liberal) and the personal responsability approach (conservative). While I am interested in politics and studied it in university, my hope is to encourage people on both sides to take responsibility for their inner lives. With presence, we can come home to ourselves, integrate projections and the neglected parts of ourselves, and ultimately heal our communities.
