The Planet that Rules your Fourth House Affects Your Productivity While In the House
I’ve learned about Local Space, which is a sub-genre of Astro-Cartography, but I never thought to zoom out and look at what house actually rules the fourth house itself, which is going to be the umbrella over everything you try to accomplish with Local Space in the home. Local Space teaches you which rooms in your house you can get the best lines to accomplish different types of tasks; whereas the ruler of the fourth house deals with both your physical house and your overall behavior and state of mind in the house after work and on weekends (as well as your home and family life if you have a family).

Neptune is the planet of dissolution, erasing boundaries, disapearance, and mirages, and it rules my fourth house. Neptune is the planet that makes you want to say, “Let’s just forget our discord and be friends, life is too short to fight!” or in my case, “you should get lost in mind-numbing activities after work to destress. Don’t do anything you don’t naturally want to do!” As you can see on the left, my Neptune is a member of a tense t-square- opposing my mars and squaring my Saturn, meaning Saturn is the apex planet and he needs to give structure to my Neptune. Usually I know that if I’m going to have the most structured evening, I have to get out of the house and do a walk first. Lately, though, I’ve had so much trouble concentrating on tasks after work that I’ve gone to the doctor’s.
Does that mean I want a Saturnian boyfriend coming into my home and telling me what to do? Maybe, it depends what kind of relationship we have; generally I want to try and integrate the Saturn on my own, but if a man who I’ve already happened to project my saturn onto (because there’s a loving “hook” there for my un-integrated shadow Saturn to hang on*) – if he wanted to push me along, I can take that, and I appreciate it. A Saturnian partner who reacts negatively to your lack of discipline and wants to get under your skin and fix you in response to their discomfort, who wants to take on your self-discipline for you, as in, they want you to project your Saturn onto them, is not as enjoyable. I’m not judging, I know from experience how hard it is not to try and fix someone. What a delicate balance, but I digress.
I’m in a pretty big mental fog today, and I don’t know if it’s retrograde Saturn squaring Neptune, but I am out of it. It’s Thanksgiving and I have a ton of prep to do, but I have no energy to go for a walk, and I just want to go back to bed. 🙂 zzzzzzzz. Go away, Neptune.
*P.S. How do you know if your girlfriend is projecting her Saturn onto you? She has moments where she wants to be a little girl around you, and wants you to bring the dad energy into the moment.
