What are Liberals doing Wrong?

It’s easy for me to delienate where Saturn (conservatism) is going wrong, but I’ve had a harder time understanding where Jupiter (liberalism) is going wrong. Justin Trudeau is an Enneagram Type 3, and Threes belong to the shame triad- they are motivated to look good in order to hide their shame (the other two shame types, of which I am one, have a different response to shame).

I’m not an economist, but I had an aha moment while reading through the Reddit comments from a 19-year old Saskatchewan student’s post. Unbelievably, they’ve been applying for jobs for three years and haven’t been able to find one. Probably 95% of the comments under their post blamed mass immigration, which I guess you can see better near Toronto and the bigger cities (of if you’re a student), but one comment in particular caught my eye.

The shame for Trudeau might be inflation, and an easy way to hide it might be immigration. Not sure on the nuts and bolts of how immigration hides inflation, but that was just a good “aha” insight into how an average type Three might lead a country. I’ve been wondering for so long why we’re bringing in so many immigrants, and kind of resent having to defend Trudeau in a province that hates him. It’s liberalism that I defend. A healthy, balanced Jupiter. But of course, for a healthy democracy, we need both Jupiter and Saturn to be healthy and balanced.

Side note: Threes tend to gravitate toward leading Liberal parties and Nines tend to gravitate toward leading conservative parties.

Or maybe the wording should be that Liberals tend to elect type Three leaders, and Conservatives tend to elect type Nine leaders. I don’t have significant data on that, just something I’m observing and will probably write about in a later post.
